"What can I say about Liss Ard Estate? We had our Wedding there last September and basically we had The Perfect Day.

We wanted 'memorable and relaxed' for our wedding and we could not have asked for a more perfect venue than Liss Ard.

Liss Ard is beautiful, exclusive, peaceful, and so special. The dozens of meandering trails through the woods, and breath-taking views out over the lake make you feel like you are in a private little world of your own. Having our wedding here was a dream.

The support from the management and staff down there knew no end (Mags, the fantastically kind and brilliant wedding coordinator, even brought in Epsom salts from her home for my bath-obsessed bridesmaid, and was reassuring me, the nervous bride, right up to the last minute). We truly relaxed on the day in the blissful knowledge that Mags and Aidan, the Manager, were overseeing the day and would handle any issues.

We arrived the day before the wedding laden down with boxes and crates full of our own decorations and games and were helped to put our own personal touches around the venue which was really important to us. Our darling dog was also accommodated at Liss Ard and able to be part of the day, which meant the world to us.

We had plenty of communication with the team at Liss Ard in the run up to the wedding who always made us feel valued and important. Mags was incredibly generous with her time and was a great, kind, reassuring support in the build up and over the weekend.

As we had a two night, exclusive rental of the estate we were given great flexibility about how to use the grounds for the wedding, so we had our ceremony overlooking the lake from the front lawn of the Lake House, which I and my bridesmaids walked to (in runners) through the forest trails. A walk I will never forget.

Fortune was on our side, and the day remained dry and warm so we played games on the main house lawn and sipped on glasses of Pimms.

The food was visually stunning and delicious and totally different from your usual wedding fare. We had been treated to a sample of the restaurant food at Liss Ard a few weeks earlier and never had a worry about the quality of the food. The waiting and kitchen staff were professional, attentive and thoughtful. A number of our guests had special diet requirements, which was no problem to Danny and his team in the kitchen.

The accommodation was gorgeously comfortable, spacious and stylish.

After only two nights I felt so at home at Liss Ard and was pained to tear myself away from our little paradise. Our dream for our wedding was for it to be a fun, relaxed, outdoorsy, memorable and slightly different day. We got this in bucket loads at Liss Ard Estate. It could not have been more perfect. We cannot wait to come back! Thank you all so much for such a perfect, dreamy day! We could not recommend Liss Ard enough.

The amazing property and setting is why we choose this venue, little did we know the team and staff would be the real gem of this estate. Mags, Aiden & Timo made all of our wishes come through and ensured we had a magical wedding day- even in the aftermath of hurricane Ophelia! Amazing venue, amazing team, amazing Wedding day. Liss Ard Estate is spectacular. Each and every staff member from top to bottom are friendly, efficient and offer a supreme service. Danny the chef is just talented and had a hard weekends work for my 70 guests. Canapés and prosecco, the dinner itself, sprawling dessert buffet which was to die for, evening food to suit our 'burger van style' but with extra class, freshly cooked breakfasts and a BBQ on the second day! Marathon session of quality dishes. Nothing was too much trouble -incorporating our decorations to support our concert theme, helping with luggage, offering water to guests in 26 degree heat, supplying top class babysitters, ferrying guests to nearby b n b's.......i could go on and on . Please refer to the review on trip advisor and you can view photos attached. Aiden and Mags, as well as Timo the owner ensured we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Liss Ard so we felt like royalty. Such was the professional standards that we hardly knew they were there and yet they were always there when needed. If you are thinking of booking a wedding in West Cork look no further. I wanted something different. I didng want a "hotel" wedding and they delivered. We had our speeches on the lawn in the sunshine, our first dance in the courtyard under a beautiful big maple tree and we rocked out to Renovater. My only regret is that we ever had to leave. This place is incredible.

We were fortunate enough to have our Wedding at Liss Ard over the June Bank Holiday weekend 2017. We visited several wedding venues before choosing Liss Ard. Liss Ard was the first venue we looked at, Adele gave us an amazing tour and every venue we looked at afterwards paled in comparison! We absolutely loved the exclusivity of the stunning estate and gardens, the gates were closed from Friday to Monday and our closest family and friends were able to enjoy the wonderful estate including stunning gardens and walks, water activities on the lake and the relaxing main house, mews and the Lake lodge. The service we were provided by the team at Liss Ard over the weekend was befitting of the setting – magnificent! Director Timo and manager Aidan were so helpful over the weekend, thank you to all your team for being so professional yet friendly and always having a smile on their face. Rooms were to the highest standard and each room unique , the Lake Lodge is stunning with magnificent views and the rooms in the main house/mews are also fab. The housekeeping team do an outstanding job. Whilst the team at Liss Ard were fantastic for the weekend, we must pay special thanks to Mags, not only was she amazing throughout the weekend, she was especially outstanding in the weeks leading up to the wedding, making herself available to us 24/7 and even taking the time to think of us and send us emails on a Sunday…whilst on her holiday abroad. We are so grateful that Mags was part of the team at Liss Ard and someone that was so helpful, professional and easy to work with in understanding and ensuring our personal touches and requests were remembered and came to fruition, she was the most amazing hostess that we and our guests continue to rave about.

Liss Ard will forever hold a special place in our hearts. My husband and I got married on the 12th of August 2016 at Liss Ard and the entire experience was simply magical. From the moment we stepped foot inside the estate we were in love. The grounds are breathtaking and opportunities for wonderful photographs were everywhere. The house itself was exactly what we wanted, a modern country feel with a fabulous flow. The fact that all of this was offered as an exclusive rental felt too good to be true. However Liss Ard just got better and better. Kate the wedding co-ordinater was on hand from the get go organising every last detail and always finding us a cheaper rate on this and that. We felt like we were being genuinely looked after and no request was too big. In the lead up to the wedding, Pamela , the head chef became our go to girl. She would e-mail back and forth, ensuring that we were 100% happy with every last detail. The food tasting was such a wonderful day and Pamela went above and beyond with the options for us. Whenever our wedding is discussed the food is one of the first things mentioned by our friends and family. In the final lead up to the wedding and over the wedding weekend Aidan became the star of the show. He literally organised everything! The bar, the heavy lifting, the musician for our bbq on the second day. Aidan was always on hand, making sure that everyone had a drink in theirs and a smile on their face. He kept everything moving and unsurprisingly most of our wedding party had become firm friends with him by the Saturday evening. Liss Ard has an exclusive feel with a homely attitude. It has become 'our place'. The staff become your friends and everyone leaves feeling relaxed, happy and planning their return trip.

We are just back in Holland and wanted to thank you so much for a super wedding weekend we were able to host for our small group with your help at this amazing estate.
Kate, you made it so easy for us to plan the wedding from abroad and we really appreciated all you advice and quick responses when planning as well as during the weekend itself. Everything was spot on. Adele you were just so lovely! And made a gorgeous wishing tree for us, with branches and flowers from the estate. Aiden, you were amazing during the whole weekend. From suggesting to have the ceremony up by the lake house (such a special spot) to lending us your jambox and fixing me up with the largest glasses of baileys anyone has seen, to your legendary selfie in the ball pond, thanks so much.

All our guests (and us too) were really impressed with the food, from our informal pre wedding homemade pizza party to the most delicious dessert table on our wedding day, we”ve had so many guests telling us how much they enjoyed it, so fab job Pamela!
The rooms as well as the communal areas of the house felt so luxurious and cosy at the same time, we really felt like it was our home for the weekend. The grounds are spectacular, with the gorgeous lake and of course the sky garden. Its just truly magical and was also ideal for our group with quite a few kids aged 1-3, who had the best time roaming around the grounds.

We had such a great weekend and could not have asked for more. Thanks so much for helping us create this special memory.”

“From the minute we drove up the winding road to Liss Ard, my husband and I knew it was where we wanted to get married. The house on the outside was spectacular. We were definitely already sold before we walked inside and met with Kate, but then it only got better.

The interior was beautifully put together, the right amount of modern design without taking from the old world feel of the estate. Kate showed us around and we immediately felt at ease. Simple things like the good coffee we drank and personable conversation we had with regards our big day. On the lead up to the wedding the one thing I did not have to stress about was the venue. Kate answered every question I had – and there must of been over 80 emails back and forth. Every request was answered with ‘yes’. She put my mind at ease on every point and I can truly say, she made the build up to my wedding such a pleasure.

The wedding day itself is so fleeting, it’s the days and weeks before I will remember so fondly – and I can truly say that was aided by the helpfulness and kindness shown to us by Kate. So on the day, I had no reason to think the venue would be anything other than perfect. When the day did finally arrive it was not the venue that shone the brightest but the staff at Liss Ard. From greeting our vendors and our guests, to helping with decorations, to sorting out last minute issues or to having a hot drink ready for me after the chilly outside photo shoot, there was nothing too much for them.

It was, however the staff in the background that really blew my guests away. The food prepared and delivered was of the highest quality expected in any top class restaurant. So much so, that I have heard from multiple guests it was the best wedding food they have ever had – a true sentiment, as it was not ‘wedding food’ that we were given – it was exquisite fine dining. People are still talking about the desserts, not to mention the midnight snacks that were demolished.

A special thank you has to be reserved though, for Aidan, the operations manager. From the minute we arrived on the Friday, to Monday when we left, he was always on hand (even at 4 am). He made sure that my husband and I were always OK – from ensuring my glass was always topped up or that my husband had a pint in hand, to taking care of our guests. I really felt that his number one priority was not the event itself, but it was the two of us – he was always on hand no matter what cropped up. By the end you only had to give him a nod and he knew what was needed – he was so attentive it blew us away. With all of the staff contributing as they did to our wedding day, it was simply the best day and weekend, we could of possibly wished for. I couldn’t recommend Liss Ard highly enough. Any family event we ever have again, my first thought will always be – can we have it in Liss Ard. 
I really can’t thank you enough – it was such a special weekend for us and we owe that to all of you.

“I just wanted to say thank you for everything. We had an absolutely wonderful day on December 5th and it would not have been the same anywhere else. We were apprehensive initially about booking somewhere a little different but we couldn’t be happier that we chose Liss Ard. From the first day Kate met us it was really easy and we found her extremely approachable and accommodating. We absolutely loved the Christmas decorations, the house speaks for itself and the restaurant looked gorgeous. It was really magical!  Of particular note are the staff, who were just fantastic on the day, so welcoming and pleasant. Nothing seemed to be too much to ask for and that meant an awful lot to us. The food was really spectacular and the dessert buffet was to die for. The cheesecake is still being discussed amongst my family who want to return just for that alone. We really cannot thank you enough for making it all so easy and for making it possible for us to feel so relaxed on the day.  Looking forward to our next visit!”

 “Myself and my husband got married on the 28th February 2015 and it was, without doubt, the best day ever. How I would love to have the day all over again. We always knew it was going to be Liss Ard. It is quite simply magical. As soon as you drive through those gates, you have entered another world, we fell in Love with Liss Ard and it was only ever going to be here that we celebrated our marriage with our family and friends. We had the whole house and mews houses for the weekend so all our guests could experience staying here.  From the get go Kate, Liss Ards wedding co-ordinator was fantastic.  We met Kate one afternoon and everything was arranged then, a few emails after and that was it. Any worries or stresses you might have about your day are well and truly left at the door once you meet her.  The food was incredible, the best of what West Cork has to offer.  The house itself is stunning, surrounded by these enchanting gardens and paths that all lead to the most beautiful little hide aways. The Sky Garden is breath taking as is the Lake, nature at its most beautiful. I could go on and on but quite simply, as soon as you are in Liss Ard, you fall in love with every part of it and our wedding was a magical day in a magical place”
