At Liss Ard, we hope that when you stay with us, you take advantage of the grounds on the estate.  There are countless paths and trails throughout the estate to enjoy the natural beauty.  You’ll find numerous benches for quiet contemplation or conversation with someone. The Celtic Meeting Place, Talking Stones, Water Gardens are some of the more special destinations at Liss Ard.  Make sure to see the Irish Sky Garden during the day and at night.

 

If you are visiting with a group, the Lake Lodge provides the ideal setting.  There are 10 rooms all similarly decorated with king beds and private bathrooms.  See website for example.  The Lake Lodge is situated near the lake, but the Country House is accessible by car or walk if you’d like to enjoy meals at the restaurant.  There is a fully functioning kitchen (we need to work on this!) if you’d like to self cater.  A quick drive in to town gives you plenty of food shopping options.  Alternatively, you can have your stay fully catered by the amazing chef at the main house.  All the vegetables and herbs are grown in the newly created gardens.  The Lake Lodge not only provides 10 beautiful rooms, but also many sitting rooms, a sunroom, a large dining room and a small dining area off of the kitchen.  It is the ideal place to bring a group and never want to leave.

 

They’re plenty of things to do at Liss Ard.  You will find that you’ll be drawn out in to nature with all the manicured paths and walkways.  The benches along the trails beg for reflection.  You can arrange an evening around the bonfire complete with marshmallows for roasting.  If it is a clear night, a visit to the Irish Sky Garden would be an ideal part of the event.  Make sure to pay a visit to the Sky Garden preferably at night to take in the brilliant sky.  Sally, the resident gardener is available to guide you around her gardens and share her passion for fresh food.  There is a boat available to paddle around the lake.  Finally, make a contribution to the beautiful grounds by planting a tree.  You can have one growing along the many famous musicians whom have been inspired by their stay at Liss Ard Estate.
